Carolina Hedgehog Society

The Carolina Hedgehog Society (CHS), formerly the Lowcountry Hedgehog Society, is a rescue and hobby group based out of Charleston, South Carolina. We are proud to a regional affiliate of the Hedgehog Welfare Society (HWS).

We welcome new members from across the Carolinas to participate in our educational and social outings. In addition, we need members to be our "eyes and ears" across the Carolinas. You can help us:

• Find new hedgehog breeders
• Locate pet stores carrying hedgehogs and hedgehog supplies
• Notify us of hedgehogs needing rescue
• Sew hats and bags for our joint rescue care package project with the HWS
• Refer hedgehog owners in the Carolinas to the CHS
• Maintain a list of Carolina vets who currently see hedgehogs
• Educate the public about the proper care for pet hedgehogs
• Have lots of fun with other hedgehog enthusiasts!
